MapSwap Pro 0.3.0-beta: see every event at a venue, right on the map

After a bit of a break, I’m back with a new beta of MapSwap Pro — the add-on that replaces Google Maps with OpenStreetMap in The Events Calendar Pro’s Map View and single venue pages.

This release adds one feature, and a very useful one at that.

What’s new

On the calendar’s Map View, clicking an event already zoomed the map to that event’s venue and popped up a bubble with the venue name. Useful, but it stopped a little short: if a venue hosts several events, you had no way of knowing that from the map.

Now the popup lists all the events in the current view at that venue, each with its date, and each one linked to the event page:

So the map becomes something you can actually browse. Spot a venue you like, click it, and see everything happening there — no going back to the list view and hunting for it.

Getting it

MapSwap Pro is still in beta and is the Pro companion to MapSwap for The Events Calendar. It needs The Events Calendar, Events Calendar Pro, the Leaflet Map plugin, and MapSwap itself.

And no, you still don’t need a Google Maps API key. That was the whole point.
